The National Weather Service says the pleasant weather will continue for several days.
The senator representing the counties of Hopkins, Union, Webster, and Henderson says it’s time end mail-in voting. Robby Mills says mail-in voting dilutes the state vote and violates the one person, one vote premise that our elections are based on. (Clip in audio below) Mills says he is not against absentee voting. He says absentee voting is controled and secured through an electronic portal.
When a cop spots an outdated license plate in a line of traffic, he knows what’s next on his agenda. The officer also learned that William Jones’ drivers license was suspended.
Jones was arrested at East McLaughlin Avenue at South Main.
A cop is having a good day when he spots someone with an outstanding arrest warrant. When Rick Romig was picked up on Dulin Street near Main, the police report states that a white piece of tissue fell out of his pocket that contained suspected synthetic marijuana. Romig is now at the county jail.
The funeral for a former Madisonville businessman will be on Tuesday, the 26th in Bowling Green. Danny Renshaw was 78. He was the owner of Renshaw Automotive Group that includes Patriot Chevrolet, Toyota of Hopkinsville, and dealerships in Bowling Green, Madisonville, and Paducah. Friends and colleagues are describing Danny Renshaw as a man whose kindness left a lasting imprint.
The state police are investigating the death of a 10-month old baby in Earlington. Scarlette Witherspoon passed away on August 3rd. The state police determined that the parents were involved. They are 27-year-old Samantha Stagner, and her boyfriend, 29-year-old Dayton Mason. The state police say the preliminary autopsy report indicated blunt force injuries. The day before the child was found dead, they say photos showed no injuries. No one else besides Stagner and Mason entered the room between the time the child was put to bed and approximately 9 the next morning. Stagner and Mason are being held in the Hopkins County Jail. The next court hearing will be on Friday, the 29th.
The state police are looking for Bobby Kyles for Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration. Kyles is black, 40 years of age, 6 feet tall with brown and black hair.. Please contact authorities if you have any helpful information.

A Hopkins County man is one of the Farmer of the Year finalists. Mark Metcalfe was at the Kentucky Farm Bureau ham breakfast at the state fair yesterday. The winner will be announced on Octpber 2nd, and then recognized during the organization’s annual meeting in December. Kentucky Farm Bureau says the annual program recognizes outstanding agricultural operations and those who lead it.
