The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office wants you to be aware of a door to door salesman. They say Julia is with an education material sales company based in Nashville that recruits college students as independent contractors to sell Southwestern Advantage educational books, apps, and website subscriptions. They add that Julia has credentials and a county and city business license.
In Webster County, the sheriff’s office is announcing the arrest of a motorist who committed multiple violations. They say Hellen Cline showed signs of impairment, and underwent a Standard Field Sobriety Test. A search of Cline’s vehicle produced a quantity of a controlled substance believed to be methamphetamine. She is facing five charges and is lodged in the detention center.
The Kentucky State Capitol building in Frankfort is undergoing its first full-scale renovation, necessitating the relocation of the House and Senate to a temporary building. Rocky Adkins is a former member of the Kentucky House of Representatives. (Clip in audio below) The massive job also includes H-VAC, plumbing, and electrical.
In Muhlenberg County, there’s an effort to restore the land back to its natural, uncultivated state. The Spruce Up the Berg’s Trees Tribe is involved in the re-wilding of certain areas in order to bring back native species. You can find out more on the social media of the The Felix E. When there’s road work, there are delays. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says that’s the case along I-69 in Madisonville. They’re working on a new surface from point markers 113 to 118. The project will continue through August between the hours of 6 PM and 6 AM.
The Madisonville police say the driver in a traffic stop gave the officer a false name. Keyla Foster was stopped on Nebo Road because only one taillight was working. Later, she explaind to the officer that the reason she gave a fake name was to avoid being arrested since there was a warrant for her arrest. The k-9 that arrived at the traffic stop alerted officers to the presence of narcotics. Central Dispatch informed the officer that Foster had previously been charged with possession of synthetic drugs.
The driver of a vehicle that was improperly using the left lane on I-69 is suspected of three drug crimes. The traffic stop of J’Meer Rowe was near mile marker 121. The drug dog Arkham led the officer to synthetic drugs and drug paraphernalia. Central dispatch notified the officer that Rowe was using a suspended license.
The Hopkins County Humane Society has to vacate their storm-damaged building so a new one can be constructed. Most of the animals have been adopted. Thanks to a donor, there is no fee required to adopt . The shelter is open Monday through Saturday from 9 to 4:30.
The newest event in Hopkins County is Madisonville Salutes. There will be military booths & displays, live music, kids activities, and community fun all day. The program kicks off on Saturday, September 13th at City Park.
