The Madisonville police are reporting that a man charged with trespassing and terroristic threatening is in the detention center. The police were called to a residence on West Center Street in reference to a trespassing charge. Jordan Craig was arrested when his father told the police that Craig threatened to kill him because he wouldn’t give him a firearm that he no longer possessed.
Like few times in history, Hopkins County’s state senator says this region of the state has a high number of road and bridge projects. Robby Mills says one of the overnight paving projects is in Hopkins County. He also points out that the massive Ohio River Crossing project is the biggest one of all. Mr. Mills encourages all drivers to have patience because the traffic flow will encounter some temporary inconveniences.
The mental acuity of President Joe Biden is a matter being addressed by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. Kentucky Congressman James Comer says it’s not easy for his committee to get information on the competence of the president. (Clip in audio below)
You are invited to a major groundbreaking. E. Hofmann Packaging says it will be their first U.S. facility. The governor will be there. Hoffman Packaging says the 43 million dollar investment will bring in 164 new jobs. The event will be on Tuesday, the 29th at noon at the Industrial site at 31-13 Nebo Road.
A Madisonville restaurant is being investigated for an illness that has sickened an unknown number of people. The Hopkins County Health Department says the inspection of the El Tapatito (tah-pah-TEE-toe) Restaurant at 401 Madison Square Drive found that the walk in refrigerator had a temperature excursion that was outside of the safe storage range. Health department officials say0 anyone with a diarrheal illness must not go to work, especially in daycare, healthcare, or food service positions, until it has been at least 24 hours since the last bout of diarrhea.
A Slaughters man caught speeding near Onton on Saturday is facing several charges. 67-year-old Edward Dame sped away from Webster County deputies on State Route 370 during a traffic stop before jumping out of the car where he was caught and arrested. Deputies say Dame was under the influence of a controlled substance.
It won’t be too long untill special purpose vehicles are allowed on city and county roads. County Judge Executive Jack Whitfield explains. (Clip in audio below) Whitfield says most of the cities in the county are likely to do what the county does.
The Hopkins County Fiscal Court meets this morning at 10 at the Government Center. New business includes Street Legal Special Purpose Vehicles and Health Department Hepatitis Vaccines.
