The arrest of a careless driver on I-69 turned out to be a man the officer had previously arrested. This time, Jacob Lear was driving carelessly on I-69. Knowing that Lear is a felon, the officer spotted a handgun in the vehicle and the handgun’s magazine on the floorboard. Inside a diaper bag, the officer found suspected meth and a roll of 20-dollar bills.
Now, how could it be that they’re making movies in Madisonville? Three have been here in less than a year. What’s the deal? Well, film producer Kristi Kilday says Kentucky is welcoming the film industry like no other state. (Clip in audio below)
The Hopkins County Humane Society is excited about a new program. It’s called Home to Home. It works on two fronts: the current guardian can find the best fit, and the pet’s adopter can learn all about their personality and preferences first-hand. The Webster County Clerks Office will begin registering Street Legal, Special Purpose Vehicles for use on selected roadways today. The use of the “Street Legal, Special Purpose Vehicles” on roadways is contingent on local jurisdictions. The county says if a vehicle does not meet all the requirements necessary by Kentucky Revised Statutes, it will not pass the inspection process.
In Earlington, a boil water advisory is in effect until testing confirms that water is safe. There are some areas that are outside of the city limits. Until the advisory is lifted, bring the water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before considering it safe. Using bottled water is another way to get safe water. When the testing is over, the Earlington Water Department will use multiple channels to notify the community.
The M-P-D is reporting the arrest of a high speed driver. Villanueva (vee-uh-noo-WAY-vuh) Cicilio (suh-SEE-lee-o) was stopped on North Kentucky Avenue. She told the officer that she was lost and frustrated. Then, the officer noticed a small glass jar of marijuana in the vehicle. After failing the sobriety test, Cicilio was arrested.
The Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Office is reporting a traffic death. On Tuesday morning, deputies say Austin Skimehorn of White Plains lost his life when his concrete truck left Kentucky 973 on a turn and hit an earth embankment. It occurred near the intersection of Rust Lane. Initially, the man initially identified as the deceased was misidentifed. Again, the accident took the life of Austin Skimehorn of White Plains.
In Kentucky, the number of pediatric overdose and ingestion cases has doubled in recent years, with fatal cases tripling. A child-abuse pediatrician at the University of Kentucky says says safe storage is essential. (Clip in audio below) That was Dr. Jennie Green. She reminds parents that child resistant does not mean childproof.
