In Hopkins County, it’s almost time for this year’s Expungement Fair. Officials say it’s all about removing barriers and giving people a new beginning. The event will be in Madisonville on tomorrow (Tuesday) from 1:30 until 4:30 at the First United Methodist Church on East Center Street. The event is being organized by Team Hire Ground, in partnership with Career Ladders in Mental & Behavioral Health and with Workforce Solutions of Madisonville Community College. The event will feature Connections to second chance employers and job opportunities, as well as information about expungement eligibility and the application process.
In Madisonville the other day, the driver of a Dodge Ram pickup that left the road and got stuck knew that he was headed to jail. William Sullivan failed the sobriety test. The officer located an open bottle of vodka and later found that Sullivan did not live at the address listed on his driver’s license. Sullivan faces 5 charges.
The big question in Washington D-C is: was there a cover-up of President Joe Biden’s mental decline and unauthorized use of the autopen? Congressman James Comer was asked about it on Fox News. (Clip in audio below)
In Hopkins County, the rescheduled Health Department block party will give the first 100 participants a backpack and other giveaways. The new date is tomorrow, (Tuesday), the 24th, from 4 to 6 at the health department at 4-12 North Kentucky.
A careless driver who drew attention to himself is what led to a traffic stop and a visit to the county jail. Central Dispatch notified the officer that Daniel Garcia had no driver’s license or proof of insurance. The K-9 Drax led the officer to a controlled substance. Then,multiple bags of what appeared to be meth were located. Garcia denied ownership.
The Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development is recognizing Madisonville Industrial Park Two. The site is well positioned for companies looking to access regional and national markets through efficient rail logistics. It is the first site in Kentucky to receive a Silver Level C-S-X Select Site designation, and was one of only 18 sites chosen across 12 states for its development potential and readiness to support industrial investment.
In Hopkins County, the humane society’s microchip campaign is being extended. The final day now is the 28th. The cost is just five dollars. The humane society on Laffoon Trail is open from 9 to 4.
In Central City, too many people are not locking their cars. That’s why there’s been an uptick in car break-ins. The police say not only should you lock the vehicle, but you should keep anything valuable out of sight.
