Faye Burden Obituary
Faye LaRue Braden Burden, 83, of Madisonville, KY, went to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 after a short battle with cancer.
She was the tenth child of eleven born to the late Roscoe A. and Katie Marie Rodgers Braden on the ninth day of September 1941 near Mortons Gap, KY.
Faye was reborn a child of God in 1961 and served her Lord in several local churches. She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. She graduated with the 1959 class of South Hopkins High School. Faye was a crafty homemaker who enjoyed making different crafts with quilt making as her favorite.
To visit with her friends and to hear their laughter was a true joy for her. Her favorite moto: “There is never a loss without a gain”.
The hospice staff provided excellent care in her final days, along with various nieces and nephews and other family members
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Darren Eugene Burden; five brothers, Arnold Braden, Leman Braden, Douglas Braden, Ralph Braden, and Richard Braden; four sisters, Rose Kuehn, Nellie Carpenter, Virginia Riely, and a twin, Peggy Tirey.
Faye is survived by her husband of sixty-five and a half years, Eugene Burden of Madisonville, KY; one son, David Anthony Burden of Nashville, TN; one sister, Fairleigh Hollenbach of Dawson Springs, KY; one grandchild; one great grandchild; and two cherished dogs, Benji and Jetti. She was Aunt Faye to a large number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025 at 1:00PM at Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, KY with Rev. Bill Egbert officiating assisted by Rev. Rick McCowan and burial to follow at Old Salem Cemetery in Mortons Gap, KY.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13,2025 from 10AM until service time at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
