The puppies found last week at City Park are doing well. They were rescued by the fire department and are being cared for by the Tender Care Veterinary Clinic. A search warrant was what led to additional charges for a Madisonville man in the county jail. Late Thursday night, suspected meth was located in a residence in the 22-hundred block of Laffoon Trail where 31-year-Brandon Bourland had been staying. His name was on a backpack where meth had been located. Bourland admitted that whatever was found in that room was his. Bourland’s new charges are possession of controlled substances and drug paraphernalia.

It’s not everyday that a ruptured water line extinguishes a fire. That’s what occurred at Christ the King Church on Kingsway Drive in Madisonville on Thursday morning. The emergency call informed authorities that there was a fire at the front of the church. Upon arrival, the M-F-D says the ruptured water line extinguished the fire in a closet.
The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that they located a motorist who died in a crash near Providence. They say 26-year-old Jacob Cummings was found dead in his vehicle in a drainage ditch along the Highway 814 Cutoff Road Sunday morning. That’s near the intersection of Highway 109, also known as Rabbit Ridge Road.
The water department in Madisonville does not look forward to frigid weather. Keith Browning is the superintendent of the Water Distribution Department. He says there have been 13 main leaks in the last two weeks.
Law enforcement is searching for a woman who has two active arrest warrants. The Princeton Police Department believes Emily Mashburn is in the Princeton, Caldwell County area. They are hoping someone will supply them with information about her location.
The Hopkins County Fiscal Court is bringing attention to the service of the Hopkins County Long Term Recovery Committee. At their last meeting, court highlighted the work of the committee during the rebuilding years since the tornado of 2021. County Attorney Lee Riddle.
