Martha “Maxine” Grant, age 90 of Madisonville, KY formerly of Ruston, LA passed away on January 17, 2025
Maxine was a lifelong member of Grapevine Baptist Church. She retired from Regional Medical Center after over 30 years working in the payroll department. She was always known for smiling at work. She loved reading romance novels, doing sudoku puzzle books, playing Skip-Bo and Phase 10, and watching tennis. Her favorite author was Danelle Steel, and she would have every book she ever wrote.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Grant, and four sisters: Merrie Ann Sears, Billie Calahan, Ruth Hargrove, and Rachel Calahan, by a brother, Claude Calahan, Jr. of Shreveport, LA.
Maxine is survived by her son, Mickey Grant of Madisonville, KY, grandson, Robert Grant and his wife Donna, great-granddaughters, Kaylee and Jade Grant of Evansville, IN, granddaughter, Amanda Grant, and partner, Jeremy Smith and great-grandchildren, Brayden and Peyton Smith of Madisonville, KY, nieces and nephews: Gordon Calahan and his wife Laurie of Shreveport, LA, Donna and husband, Eddie Wayne Horton of Bernice, LA; numerous great-great nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Graveside Services at Oakwood Cemetery in Earlington will be private.
The Pallbearers will be Rob Grant, Brayden Smith, Peyton Smith, Jeremy Smith, Mickey Grant, Ryan Caddell.
Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, KY is in charge of the arrangements.
