The venue on Midtown Boulevard will be hosting many tournaments and will be attracting a lot of folks to Madisonville and Hopkins County.
After responding to a call from a neighbor, a Muhlenberg County man is facing animal torture charges. David Snider was arrested on Monday. His dog’s name is Clint Eastwood. In court this week, someone said that you could see every bone in the dog’s body, but animal shelter officials say he’s doing much better and is on a strict diet plan. Hopefully, the day will come when he is adopted.
Kentuckians enrolled in Medicaid and Medicare are eligible for additional benefits not usually associated with a typical health insurance plan. Marian Cabanillas with UnitedHealthcare Community and State says the Dual Special Needs Plans provide benefits not typically associated with standard health coverage.
Cabanukkas says D-Snips also can be used to help pay utility bills.
Our governor wants to improve the railroads. Andy Beshear says Kentucky will invest over 7-million dollars for 8 projects to maintain and enhance existing infrastructure. The projects will be funded through a newly created grant known as the Kentucky Short Line Infrastructure Preservation Program.
The free MCC Singers Community Christmas Concert at the Glema Mahr Center for the Arts will include the Madisonville North Chamber Choir, the Winds of Christmas ensemble, a hand bell choir, and a children’s choir. The program will be at the Glema Mahr Center for the Arts on Friday, December 13th at 7.

The Madisonville man who exited his car and took off running at about 3:30 Wednesday morning to get away from the police is facing 8 charges. It all began when a police officer noticed that 37-year-old Stephen Dexter was not using his seat belt. When Dexter reached a fence, he quit running. He said he ran because he knew his license was suspended. Dexter also was driving an uninsured Ford Fusion. A search of the vehicle produced a meth pipe and a marijuana joint.
The Madisonville man who thought the school had lost his child is facing a disorderly conduct charge. On Monday afternoon, Christopher Elderbrook was asked by the police to step outside and explain the problem instead of alarming the West Broadway Elementary School staff and students in the office with his yelling. The police report states that Elderbook prevented officials from from trying to locate the child.
The Hopkins County Clerk is reporting to the fiscal court that election day went pretty well. Keenan Cloren says the election drew about 2 per cent fewer voters that 2020. She also said…
Kentucky drivers will soon have a new driving requirement. Starting January 1st, vision screenings will be required for anyone renewing a driver’s license. A number of states already have this law. Those who do not pass the vision test, will be instructed to see a vision specialist.
