Madisonville Community College is about to hold a meeting on how Anybody Can Get Their Start in the Film Industry. The MCC Workforce Solutions meeting will be on Saturday, the 16th from 9 until 11:30 at Kentucky Movers and Makers at 130 North Seminary Street. There’s a ribbon cutting at the Greenville airport this morning. The Tourism Commission says it will begin at 10 o’clock at 399 Airport Road. Everyone agrees that aviation training is being enhanced.
The Madisonville police discovered that a driver on Grapevine Road last Friday night who was keeping his headlights on high beam had an outdated registration plate. 49-year-old Floyd Smith of Murfreesboro-Tennessee also had no insurance and no driver’s license. In no time, Smith was in jail and his Lexus was towed away.

In Hanson, the state says work on the turning lane at the new elementary school will begin today. Channel 44 is reporting that most of the construction will be off the shoulder of the road. Officials are hoping the new lane will go into use next month.
In Madisonville the HR Department is being complimented for doing a great job with the annual harassment training program. It covered the different forms of harassment, understanding its impact on individuals and the workplace, and promoting a culture of respect and accountability. Employees were also taught about their rights and responsibilities, as well as how to report and address their concerns. Madisonville has a zero-tolerance stance on harassment in order to foster a positive work environment.
The mayor of Earlington is hopeful that by March, the city will have 13 new houses. Albert Jackson looks forward to the city having more places to live.
The Ford Fusion that was crossing the fog line on I-69 over and over is what drew the attention of the MPD. Gina Harper was not in possession of her driver’s license or proof of insurance. Her vehicle had no registration plate. In going through her purse, she came across a bag that she admitted contained meth. Harper was arrested on five charges.
The Glema Mahr Center for the Arts at M-C-C is gearing up for three performances of Annie. They will be Friday and Saturday at 7, and a Saturday matinee at 2.
