Here’s the early voting information for Webster County. It will take place for 3 days in Dixon at the Senior Center on North College Street. The poll will be open from 8 until 4 on Thursday, October 31st, and Friday and Saturday, November 1st and 2nd. For excused reasons only, qualified voters can cast an absentee ballot in person today from 8 until 4.
In Webster County, Animal Care and Control is raising money with an organization which tours the country. Monday’s online fundraiser with Jordan’s Way raised almost 11-thousand dollars. If you missed it, you can still donate.
The man who assaulted his mother in Madisonville at 3:22 in the morning on Sunday is being charged with assault. The incident involving Michael Sullivan occurred on North Kentucky Aveue at the Doe Run Apartments.
The National Weather service says improved technology has helped them construct more accurate forecasts of serious weather events.
The state is doing a lot of road projects this week. Much of it has to do with snow and ice season preparation. Mulching will be done near I-69. In Hopkins County, rail mowing will be done on Kentucky 291. In Muhlenberg County, culvert replacement will take place on mile marker 9 on KY 2270. In Webster County, there will be mowing and pothole patching in various locations.

The Hopkins County Clerk’s Office wants all registered voters to know that early voting is for ALL registered voters. They say early voting often has reduced wait times, flexibility in voting locations, and increased convenience. You can vote early at the Ballard Convention Center on tomorrow (Thursday) through Saturday, the 31st to the 2nd, from 8 until 4.
The Hopkins County School district will be constructing a new central office in Madisonville. They are planning on relocating to 21-35 North Main. They say they may start seeking bids on the project next year. School district officials are quoted as saying a new building may be more financially sound.
The city of Madisonville is suing the city Earlington. The matter was presented by Councilman Adam Townsend at this week’s meeting.
Mayor Kevin Cotton called for a vote and it passed unanimously.
The fire damage to a Madisonville a business is estimated at 25-hundred dollars. On Saturday evening, the Ahlstrom Filtration employees stated that the friction of some scrap paper that was being pushed across the floor caused it to ignite. The fire crew made sure all of the hot spots were addressed at 2-15 Nebo Road.
An investment project by the Delta Regional Authority includes the city of Providence. The Webster County town is being awarded more than 2 million dollars to upgrade their aging public infrastructure that includes water and sewer utility service. These funds were made available in part by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law signed by President Biden.
