The computer must be law enforcement’s best friend? It was learned that a man in a traffic stop had an extraditable warrant out of Spencer County-Indiana. 44-year-old Jacob Head of Utica-Kentucky was arrested. The incident occurred in Madisonville on North Main on Monday morning. Indiana officials say Head will be extradited.
A report of domestic violence is what sent the police to a residence on Island Ford Road Sunday morning at around 3. The victim told the police that Michael Sullivan slapped her in the face. There was a brief scuffle when Sullivan resisted arrest. He is also charged with assault.
A dispatcher from Muhlenberg 9-1-1 will be volunteering in Asheville-North Carolina. When she leaves on Saturday morning, she will be taking with her a large amount of donations that will be distributed to persons in need by a church. Muhlenberg 9-1-1 is in Powderly at 504 Doss Drive, Number-B.
In Kentucky, non-partisan voter registration is up. The Hechinger Report says one of the reasons is that the Commonwealth has enacted abortion restrictions. Spokesman Jon Marcus says voting by young people has quietly been rising to unprecedented levels.
Nationally, the nonpartisan voter registration group known as Vote dot O-R-G reports that it has registered a record 800-thousand voters under 35 in time for the general election.

The Madisonville man who was assaulting a female after throwing a bottle of alcohol through a glass door at his mother’s house is now at the detention center. Marvin Rice is charged with criminal mischief and assault. The officer arrived at the Murray Street residence at around 1 AM on Sunday. A witness who was driving by provided information to the police. The police report stated that Rice was intoxicated from alcohol.

One of the newest civic organizations in Madisonville is just getting off the ground. The Junior Ambassadors are high school students who are being introduced to local government. Deputy City Administrator Brad Long says they meet once a month.
Long says the school board has added the Junior Ambassadors to their curriculum.
The Madisonville College Foundation is announcing that they have been gifted 12-thousand dollars for students in C-N-C technology. C-N-C technology is a manufacturing method that automates the control, movement and precision of machine tools through the use of pre-programmed computer software that is embedded inside the tools. The Gene Haas Foundation says there is a significant need for machinists in this region. The primary mission of the Gene Haas Foundation is to partner with schools and organizations to expose students to careers in manufacturing, and provide the means for them to pursue those opportunities.
