Madisonville Community College is reporting that their two helicopter instructors are in East Tennessee and North Carolina helping to deliver over 40-thousand pounds of supplies. They are working with a helicopter tour company based out of Nashville.
Lane restrictions are expected on I-69 in Webster County this week to make base repairs. The Transportation Cabinet says one lane will be blocked between mile markers 131 and 132 today through Thursday. This is between the Sebree and Slaughters exits.
The construction of the Madisonville Hopkins County Sportsplex is almost complete. The multi-sport civic venue on Midtown Boulevard will be opening soon. Here’s Mayor Kevin Cotton.
The Greenville Police Department is out with a scam alert. Local businesses are being targeted. The scammer will call the business and claim to be a federal agent or some other official. To make you think they are real, they will mention familiar names, such as the owner, other employees, or local officials. The scammer may even make threats of arrest if the business does not comply. They will ask the employee to take money from the cash register or safe and purchase gift cards or prepaid cards. The police also say the scammers use telephone numbers that are difficult to trace.
In Frankfort, the governor is hoping small businesses that are interested in creating jobs and investing in our communities will apply for a tax credit. Mr. Beshear says many companies don’t even know they’re eligible.

The National Weather Service says this week is featuring autumn weather with highs in the low to mid-70s.
A Hanson teenager is missing. The state police say 17-year-old Destiny Huff was last seen last evening around 6:45 at her home on Applewood Drive. She wearing pink pajama pants, and a gray t-shirt. Destiny Huff is a white female, 5-2, 120, with brown hair and blue eyes. Contact authorities if you have information.
Hopkins County’s Republican candidate for the state House has another endorsement. Wade Williams says he’s very proud to have the support of the Kentucky Faternal Order of Police. Williams says holding people accountable for their crimes is one of his core values.
A Madisonville man is jailed on a number of automotive violations. Teagin Myers was arrested Thursday morning on South Madison Avenue. His Dodge Caliber was not displaying a license plate. Myers drivers license was suspended, and his vehicle was not insured. Myers’ address on his Kentucky I-D card also was not correct.
