12HOPKINS COUNTY 0624 In Madisonville, the Hopkins County Fiscal Court meets this morning at 10.  The agenda includes The Union Statue Presentation.  The Government Center is at 56 North Main Street.

20MADISONVILLE 0620 The Madisonville driver of a car with just one headlight on Wednesday night is facing several charges.  Aaron Shelton was driving on South Seminary with a suspended license.  His address on his license had also changed.  The drug dog located a glass pipe and suspected meth, along with a scale and some baggies.  

21HOPKINS COUNTY 0605 Kentucky athletes and coaches are about enter the dead period.  In Hopkins County, the director of athletics is Matt Bell.

17HOPKINS COUNTY 0622 The job of replacing three bridges on Coiltown Road in western Hopkins County will continue until Thanksgiving.  These three bridges over Clear Creek have been under construction for three years.  When completed, the bridges will traverse nearly a half mile of wetlands.

19KENTUCKY 0330 The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s Office of Highway Safety has a new website.  They are quick to say that it’s more user-friendly.  It’s being described as a one-stop resource about highway safety initiatives, stats and grant opportunities.  The address is k-y-highway-safety dot COM.

14CHRISITIAN COUNTY 0624 Getting to Pennyrile Forest State Park may take a little longer this week.  They’re paving Kentucky 398.  The project is the roughly three miles of the roadway that serves as the main entrance.  It should be completed on Friday.  

9WESTERN KENTUCKY 0624 In Hopkinsville, the Pennyrile Area Development District is giving away fans to older adults.  They recommend phoning their office before coming by to pick it up.

27MADISONVILLE 0624 It took a taser and a shotgun for the Madisonville police to make an arrest on Sunday evening.  40-year-old Christopher Redman had thrown a bottle into the windshield of a car at the to Hidden Hills Apartments in the 500 block of Connor Court. He ran into an apartment and refused to comply with the police.  Redman faces several charges, including hitting a man in the head numerous times.  His bond is set at 15-thousand dollars.

26MADISONVILLE 0622 The man found passed out at a Madisonville city park in the middle of the night is facing three charges.  The police say the Ford Fusion of Mycah Gray drew their attention at 3 AM on Friday morning at Dr. Festus Clayborn Park.  The vehicle was running and within plain view were three blue pills thought to be fentanyl.  Gray attempted to flee, but was transported to the county jail.  

22MADISONVILLE 0624 There are more details about the bicycle versus car incident early Sunday morning in Madisonville.  The cyclist was 56-year-old Christopher Payton.  The police say he disregarded a stop sign at 1:30 in the morning and was hit by a vehicle driven by Dantry Matchem at West Arch Street and Pride Avenue.  Payton’s injuries are described at serious.
